DEREGULATION - 2025

‘Deregulation’ is an exhibition that looks at economics from the perspective of cybernetics. Wherein deregulation is just another word for instability. The kind that would eventually lead to a system’s collapse. And if not, then to a new homeostasis in which stability may be achieved amongst competing interests. The idea behind it is, therefore, to look at economic deregulation – which became dominant in the 1990s – through its dialectical opposition to regulation – which had been the trend for the 1930s. Or shortly after the Great Depression of 1929.

The exhibition is supported by Starfslaunasjóður listamanna and Myndlistarsjóður.
